Albert Waterways Children's Centre Goals
• For the child’s family life and Centre life to be linked through strong ties between home and Centre.
• For the child and their family to feel secure and happy with the environment and the care and education received at AWCC.
• For the child to be encouraged and motivated in a co-operative caring environment.
• For the child to be encouraged to wonder at the natural world, to have a love of nature and an interest in the wider world in which they live.
• For the child to be encouraged to respect other cultures apart from their own. To become familiar with other cultures and to be encouraged to see the similarities between all people.
• For the child to be encouraged to live and play co-operatively with others. To accept and respect the ideas and contributions of others.
• For the children to have the experiences of socialising with other people of all ages, from babies to adults, just as they do in a normal society.
• To provide learning opportunities on a broad range of topics to extend on children’s existing knowledge and make connections.
• For the child’s education to be viewed as an education for life, where skills, understandings and knowledge discovered here at AWCC will be carried with them into their future.
• For Albert Waterways Children’s Centre to have an excellent reputation in the wider community as an outstanding Centre providing exceptional care and education for its’ young children.
