Our Program


At Musgrave Hill CCC our program has been developed by our staff. The framework of our program comes from Early Childhood pedagogy that is underpinned from early childhood theorists, and knowledge acquired in staff studies, workshops and training. We understand that not only is children’s education ever evolving but so too is adults. Therefore, our programming is continually evaluated by staff to ensure we keep up to date with current early childhood trends.

The emergent curriculum is the basis of our Early Childhood Program. Each room is set up with core learning areas and self selection activities. This allows children to make choices and develop a sense of trust in their environment. The basis of our program involves following up on children’s interests. This is done at different levels in each room to allow for children’s developmental levels.

Our goal is to find out how each child learns and how we can best extend upon their learning. Our program outcome is to develop children’s foundational skills allowing them to be inquisitive lifelong learners and planners.

Children’s learning is documented daily and displayed on our programming boards in each room. The portfolio method is used at Musgrave Hill CCC to document children’s learning. Portfolios help to paint a picture of each child’s learning and development. Children, Parents and staff are then able to reflect upon children’s learning.
