Child Care has certainly changed over the years!

The increased demand for child care due to the rise in the need for both parents to work has seen corporate centre take overs and bottom lines replace the home away from home philosophy that was expected from child care providers in the past. The standard of care has diminished in many cases and children are seen as dollar signs, not the unique individuals that they are.

Luckily there are still centres who are committed about the quality of care they are providing and for the past 30 years Albert Waterways has been doing just that.

At Albert Waterways we strongly believe that children learn best through play. It is our aim to provide an environment rich in play opportunities that allow the children to create, observe, explore, imagine and question under the guidance of the friendly, fully qualified staff. At Albert Waterways the staff act as facilitaors, providing materials, information and questioning techniques to encourage the children to learn and grow in a safe, familiy orientated environment.

As with anything, the key to making the right child care choices for your family is to do what best suits you and your families needs.

If it suits you to :

• Not pay for Public Holidays
• Have your children cared for by fully qualified staff with a ratio that exceeds licensing requirements.
• Have freshly cooked, diverse meals prepared for your child that are based on Nutrition Australia's recommendation.
• Have an inclusive fee that incorporates visitors to the centre (Magic shows, farm visits etc)
• Only have to supply one piece of fruit per day
• Know that the profits made at the centre will be used for improvements and resources for the centre

If it suits your children to:

• Have access to a large range of developmentally appropriate activities that will stimulate their curiosity and imagination
• Have the freedom to choose from not only indoor and outdoor play experiences but also whether to play in the preschool area or the kindy area during their free play time.
• Be surrounded by large natural play spaces.
• Be able to access fruit and water throughout the mornings and afternoons and not be restricted to timetables.
• Provide input into the activities and experiences that are being provided for them.
