Cooloon Children’s Centre Inc. is situated in one corner of Recreation Park in Tweed Heads, just over the Queensland Border.
The centre was established in 1967 by Tweed Shire Council and handed back to the community to run as a not for profit community based long day care centre.
The centre is wellestablished and well resourced with staffing levels and staff qualifications higher than required by regulations and caters for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
The two playrooms are enhanced by an interesting and natural play environment where, children can play alone or with others, siblings can be together and children can create, investigate and explore.
In addition, the centre runs ‘The Everyday of Parenting Program’ funded by The Department of Family and Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, ‘Stronger Families and Community Strategy’
